Key Features
The Shure MV7i combines a USB-C microphone and audio interface in one recording solution. Its integrated input supports an additional dynamic or condenser microphone through XLR or an instrument through a 1/4-inch TS or TRS connection. With 24-bit/48kHz digital audio, onboard DSP, flexible track modes, and app-based control, the MV7i is designed to manage microphone and input audio through a unified workflow.
The MV7i is suited to podcast recording, voice capture, guest conversations, and instrument recording. Its built-in microphone can operate alongside a connected XLR microphone, making it useful when a second voice needs its own input. Musicians can instead connect an instrument through the 1/4-inch TS or TRS input. USB-C compatibility supports workflows with Mac, Windows, Apple, and Android devices, while MFi certification provides compatibility for iPhone and iPad users. MOTIV Mix and MOTIV Mobile apps provide control for desktop and mobile recording setups.
Auto Level Mode with SmartGate dynamically adjusts microphone gain according to proximity, speech volume, and room acoustics. This helps maintain clear, uninterrupted recordings as speaking conditions change. Voice Isolation Technology, a Real-Time Denoiser, Digital Popper Stopper, and Adjustable Reverb provide additional processing options. These DSP features enhance both the MV7i microphone and a connected XLR microphone, allowing both channels to benefit from the available processing. The sound signature, DSP settings, and two-channel mix can be configured through the MOTIV applications.
Connect the MV7i to a compatible device through USB-C, then attach an additional audio source when required. The interface accepts an XLR dynamic or condenser microphone or an instrument through a 1/4-inch TS or TRS connection. Up to +60dB of gain is available, along with 48V phantom power for supported condenser microphones. A built-in 3.5mm jack provides real-time monitoring of both the microphone and input channels. The customizable LED touch panel can be configured through MOTIV Mix to display channel information in split or combined mode, helping users follow both sources during recording.
The MV7i records digital audio at 24-bit/48kHz and processes audio through onboard DSP. Mixdown Mode merges microphone and input audio into one mono track by default. Multi-track Mode records the two sources as separate mono tracks, providing individual tracks for subsequent mixing. Stereo Mode preserves stereo audio from the connected input while combining it with the microphone recording. Real-time monitoring makes it possible to hear both sources through the 3.5mm output while recording. Users can also adjust the sound signature, processing features, and channel balance through MOTIV Mix or MOTIV Mobile.
The MV7i is both a USB-C microphone and an audio interface, allowing its own microphone and a connected source to operate together. Its 36-bit color-adjustable LED touch panel can display a live meter, pulsing pattern, or solid presentation. The panel can represent the microphone and input channels separately or together, depending on the selected configuration. Tapping the panel provides instant mute access for each channel, with a red animation indicating muted status. Combined with processing for both the integrated microphone and a connected XLR microphone, these controls create a coordinated two-channel recording system within one model.
The Shure MV7i brings microphone capture, external input connectivity, monitoring, processing, and mixing controls into one USB-C product. Its 24-bit/48kHz audio, +60dB gain, 48V phantom power, three recording modes, and real-time DSP tools provide substantial control over voice and instrument workflows. For users who need a microphone that can also manage another microphone or instrument, the MV7i offers a focused combination of hardware control and MOTIV app integration.
