Key Features
The RDL SF-NP16E is a Dante-enabled mono audio amplifier designed to deliver 16 W RMS into 70 V or 100 V distributed audio systems. It supports Class 4 IEEE 802.3at PoE+ power as well as 24 Vdc operation, combining network audio transport and amplification in a compact unit. The amplifier supports 24-bit audio, multiple selectable sample rates, remote VCA level control, and installation in spaces requiring a UL 2043 plenum rating.
This model is suited to networked distributed audio systems that require a single 70 V or 100 V amplified output. Its Dante interface allows mono audio to be received through a 100 Mbps Ethernet connection, while PoE+ can provide operating power through the network infrastructure. The UL 2043 plenum rating makes the SF-NP16E appropriate for installations where plenum-rated equipment is required. Remote level adjustment is also possible through compatible RDL VCA wall controls using the amplifier’s 0 to 10 Vdc control input.
The SF-NP16E brings Dante reception, mono amplification, and high-voltage distributed audio output together in one device. It produces 16 W RMS at either 70 V or 100 V, with a reference level of 0 dBFS equal to 16 W. Class 4 IEEE 802.3at PoE+ support can reduce the need for a separate local power connection. Where PoE is unavailable or an external supply is preferred, the unit can operate from 24 Vdc at 1000 mA. Recommended supplies are the PS-24KS for the USA and PS-24KX for international use.
Network connectivity is provided by an RJ45 connector with Ethernet Link and Speed indicators. The Dante interface operates at a 100 Mbps transmission rate and supports selectable sample rates of 44.1, 48, 88.2, and 96 kHz, with 48 kHz as the default. Remote VCA control accepts 0 to 10 Vdc through a detachable terminal block and is compatible with RDL VCA wall controls. Front-panel indicators show Sync in green and Amplifier Muted in yellow. Rear-panel indication includes Port Protect in red along with Ethernet Link and Speed status.
The chassis measures 1.7 inches high by 5.83 inches wide by 6.45 inches deep. Metric dimensions are listed as 4.32 by 14.8 by 16.38 cm. The specified ambient operating range is 0°C to 40°C maximum, with 20°C recommended. Thermal and short-circuit protection are included for operational protection.
The power amplifier output is rated at 16 W RMS for 70 V or 100 V systems. Frequency response is specified at +0/-3 dB from 50 Hz to 20 kHz, while THD+N is less than 1% at 1 kHz. The Dante audio path supports 24-bit depth and four selectable sample rates, allowing the unit to match common Dante network configurations. These specifications provide a clearly defined combination of output power, audio bandwidth, and network compatibility for mono distributed audio applications.
The defining feature of the SF-NP16E is its integration of Dante networking with a 16 W, 70 V or 100 V mono amplifier. PoE+ support allows network connectivity and power to be delivered through the Ethernet connection, while the alternative 24 Vdc input provides another powering method. The detachable 0 to 10 Vdc VCA input adds hardware-based remote level control, and the UL 2043 rating addresses installations that require plenum-rated equipment. Its visible sync, mute, port, link, and speed indications provide immediate status information at the unit.
The RDL SF-NP16E is a focused solution for converting Dante network audio into a 16 W RMS mono output for 70 V or 100 V distribution. It combines 24-bit audio support, sample rates up to 96 kHz, PoE+ or 24 Vdc power, remote VCA control, and UL 2043 plenum compliance. For systems requiring compact Dante amplification with clearly specified network, control, and protection features, the SF-NP16E provides those functions in a single model.
